The main bulk of the story concerns the apprehension of the simple rural folk who eventually storm the inventor's devilish workshop in an effort to repay supposed witchery.
There his mind appeared to receive remarkable impressions from the witchery and beauty of the lake, and the splendid scenery which formed part of its associations.
