Like other tabi, jika-tabi have a divided toe area so that they can in theory be worn with slip-on thonged footwear, but they are heavy-duty, and resemble boots.
The slippers were made using outworkers who collected materials from the factory, assembled footwear in workshops at home and returned the finished product for payment.
They showed new takes on all facets of fashion, from casual and leisurewear, swimwear, sportswear and daywear to menswear, footwear and evening apparel.
