1921 reichte Christian Dell seine Bewerbung beim Bauhaus ein, wo er ab dem 1. April 1922 als Werkmeister tätig wurde ; als Formmeister stand ihm nach Klee und Schlemmer ab 1923 László Moholy-Nagy zur Seite.
Die Lehrtätigkeit ließ Christian Dell kaum Zeit für die Ausführung eigener Entwürfe.Bekannt sind ein üppiges, nur wenig " bauhäuslerisch " wirkendes Bowlengefäß und eine strenge, geometrisch zusammengefügte Weinkanne in Silber.
