Elliott Sharp, amerikanischer Multiinstrumentalist und Komponist der New Yorker Avantgardeszene, hat im Auftrag von Studio Dan das elfteilige „In the Pelagic Zone“ komponiert.
Im November 2011 wurde das Stück von 14 Spielern des Österreichischen Ensembles im Rahmen einer kleinen Tournee uraufgeführt.

Die Uraufführung von “In The Pelagic Zone” wurde vom ORF mit Erlaubnis der Jeunesse Österreich und dem Porgy & Bess aufgenommen und wird im Dezember 2013 als CD und damit als fünfte Veröffentlichung des Ensembles erscheinen.

The premiere of “In The Pelagic Zone” was recorded by the ORF with permission of the Jeunesse Austria and the Porgy & Bess and will be released in December 2013 as an CD which will be the ensemble´s fifth CD.
