Entwicklung und Anwendung von Konzepten und Modellen zur Identifikation und möglichen Steuerung der Hauptquellen von unerwünschten Stoffflüssen aus der Anthroposphäre in die Umweltkompartimente.
Ziel ist dabei die Früherkennung möglicher anthropogener Einflüsse sowie die Beurteilung möglicher Lenkungsmassnahmen.
Ein spezieller Schwerpunkt ist die Entwicklung von Modellen zur Simulation von Stoffflüssen mit langen Aufenthaltszeiten in der Anthroposphäre.

Die ablaufende Primärsukzession wurde und wird durch keine anthropogenen Lenkungsmaßnahmen beeinflusst, so dass die Selbstorganisation von Ökosystemen sowie die damit verbundene Struktur- und Musterbildung in terrestrischen und aquatischen Teilsystemen betrachtet werden kann.
Durch bauliche Maßnahmen erlaubt die rund 6 ha große Fläche die Entwicklung eines eigenständigen lokalen Grundwasserkörpers und damit die Untersuchung von Feedbacks zwischen beispielsweise hydrologischen und geomorphologischen oder botanischen Strukturelementen.

The construction of the 6 ha large site allows for the development of a local groundwater body enabling investigations of feedbacks between e.g. hydrological and geomorphic or botanic structural elements.
