Ihr geographischer Schwerpunkt liegt in Europa, dem Vorderen Orient (Iran, Afghanistan) und dem Südostasiatisch-Australischen Raum.
Die Sammlung enthält mindestens 20.000 Arten, mehr als 500 Primärtypen und über 1000 Paratypen, außerdem mehr als 30.000 Mikropräparate von Genitalarmaturen.
