Im Winter 1998 plünderten Räuber einen Tumulus in Çan, auf halbem Wege zwischen Ilion und der Satrapen-Hauptstadt Daskyleion.
Im Tumulus befand sich ein marmorner Sarkophag mit zwei Reliefs griechisch-persischen Typs.

Contained within the tumulus was a marble sarcophagus with two reliefs of Graeco-Persian type, and nearly all of the original paint still survives.
