Da jedoch auf ausgereiften FDCs kein PDGFR-β zu finden ist, so die Hypothese der Forscher, müssen diese mutmasslichen FDC-Vorläuferzellen während ihrer Entwicklung aufgehört haben, dieses Molekül zu produzieren.

PROGNOSIS2 ist eine prospektive, doppelblinde, nicht-interventionelle Multizenterstudie zur Beurteilung der Kurzzeitvorhersage von Präeklampsie, Eklampsie oder eines HELLP-Syndroms (hemolysis, elevated liver enzymes, low platelet count, Hämolyse, erhöhte Leberenzyme, niedrige Blutplättchenzahl) bei Schwangeren mit Verdacht auf Präeklampsie.
Von Dezember 2010 bis Januar 2014 wurden über 1270 Schwangere an 30 Zentren in 14 Ländern in die Studie aufgenommen.
