Besonderes Augenmerk soll dabei u.a. auf die „ Fluktuation “ von Status in der römischen Republik und Kaiserzeit gelegt werden, d.h. sozialer Status und von ihm abgeleitetes Prestige sollen in ihrem dynamischen und kommunikativen Charakter untersucht werden :
sozialer Status als eine Determinante, die verliehen, usurpiert, aufrechterhalten, erhöht, vorgetäuscht, verschwiegen, vergessen oder verloren werden konnte.

Special attention will be paid to the fluctuating nature of social status, its dynamic and communicative aspects - status as a social constituent that could be conferred, usurped, maintained, raised, feigned, concealed, forgotten or lost.
