They include granting a funeral procession right of way when driving, never overtaking them or cutting in and waiting for all vehicles to pass before using a pelican crossing.
The parents said the pelican crossing alone does not regulate this volume and diversity of traffic and primary school age children need a human eye to keep them safe.
Many sites aren't busy enough to justify a pelican crossing, but having a patrol there at peak times strikes the right balance between road safety and keeping traffic flowing.
